New driveways, extensions and replacements in St. Gabriel. A commercial 3,500 PSI mix with fiber goes into every pour automatically.
St. Gabriel sits on the east bank of the Mississippi in Iberville Parish, just across the parish line from us in Ascension, with LA 30 and LA 74 tying it to the plants and to Prairieville. Parish Concrete Contractors pours driveways, patios, shop pads and concrete slabs in St. Gabriel.
Most St. Gabriel driveways are long and start at a ditch and culvert. If you're parking a work truck, trailer or RV, we recommend adding steel highway mesh or rebar.
Love our driveway extension!! Rodney kept us updated and the guys done a really good job. Would recommend Parish to anybody needing concrete.
Ashley T. Google Verified · Baton Rouge, LADante was great to work with. Our old driveway was cracked all over and needed replacing. The new concrete looks fantastic. Very happy with the finished product.

Book My Free WalkthroughSt. Gabriel is mostly rural and semi-rural, with homes on larger lots along River Road and LA 30, a few subdivisions, and a lot of open land between them. Many residents work at the nearby chemical plants or in the trades, so driveways and slabs here often need to hold work trucks, trailers and equipment. The soil is heavy river clay that holds water after a storm and shifts when it dries out, so we focus on excavation, base prep and getting the grade right. The land is flat and low, with drainage running to roadside ditches and canals, and most driveways cross a ditch with a culvert at the road. Larger lots also mean longer drives and more room for shops, barns and outdoor living areas.
Building permits inside city limits go through the City of St. Gabriel. Driveway connections to state routes like LA 30, LA 74 or River Road (LA 75) typically need an LA DOTD access permit.
We handle the permits, HOA approval and 811 locates for you.

On a job with this many moving parts, something will eventually go sideways. When it does, you call your project manager and it gets handled. If it is bigger than that, I come look at it myself.

A driveway takes more punishment than any other slab on your property: daily traffic, heavy rain, and clay underneath that swells and shrinks with every wet and dry spell. Here's how we build driveways for South Louisiana ground, and what you should know before you choose a contractor.
Most of the Baton Rouge area sits on clay that swells when it's wet and shrinks when it dries. A driveway poured over soft or organic soil moves with it, and that's where cracks and sunken edges start. A lasting driveway starts underneath. We excavate to firm ground and remove what's soft. Every Parish pour is a commercial 3,500 PSI mix with fiber included, which gives the slab more strength and better resistance to the small shrinkage cracks that form as concrete cures. Expansion joints go in where the driveway meets the house, the street or other slabs, and control joints give any cracking a straight, planned place to happen.
Reinforcement comes in different forms that do different jobs. Fiber is mixed into the concrete itself and spreads through the whole slab, helping control the shrinkage cracks that show up while concrete cures. It's included in every Parish pour. Steel highway mesh comes in heavy flat sheets, and rebar is steel bar tied in a grid. Both add tensile strength and help hold a slab together under heavy, concentrated loads. For a driveway that carries everyday cars and pickups, our 3,500 PSI fiber mix is what we pour. If your driveway will see commercial vehicles, heavy trailers, RVs or similar loads, we recommend adding steel highway mesh or rebar. We quote it as a separate add-on so you can see exactly what it adds and decide with the full picture in front of you.
Broom finish is the standard for driveways for good reason. The light texture gives tires and shoes grip when the slab is wet, and it's the simplest surface to keep clean. Stained concrete adds color to a plain slab and works well when you want the driveway to complement the house or tie into a patio. Stamped and stained concrete gives the look of stone, brick or pavers with the strength of a solid slab, and many homeowners use it on a front walk, a parking court or a border along the drive while keeping the main lanes broom finished. Stamped surfaces can be slicker than broom finish, so think about slope and shady spots. Your project manager can walk you through samples at the walkthrough.
In South Louisiana, a heavy afternoon storm can drop more water than the ground can take in, so a driveway has to move water somewhere on purpose. A good slab slopes away from the house and garage and toward the street, a ditch or a drain, never toward your foundation or into a low spot where water will sit. At the free walkthrough we measure the pour, shoot the grade and look at where water goes today, then set the forms so the finished driveway carries water off the right way. Our pricing assumes a typical residential lot with limited grade changes. If your property has a big grade change or a spot that holds water, we'll tell you at the walkthrough and price that work separately instead of surprising you later.
The cheapest bid is rarely the cheapest job. Put every bid side by side and check these six things.

For a driveway that carries everyday cars and trucks, our standard 3,500 PSI mix with fiber is what we pour, and we don't add wire mesh by default. If your driveway will see commercial vehicles, heavy trailers, RVs or similar loads, we recommend adding steel highway mesh or rebar. We quote it as an add-on so you can see exactly what it costs.
PSI is a measure of how much load the concrete can handle once it cures, and many residential bids are based on a 3,000 PSI mix. Every Parish pour is a commercial 3,500 PSI mix, and fiber is included automatically instead of being charged as an extra. Fiber helps the slab resist the small shrinkage cracks that form as it cures.
Yes. Tear-out and haul-off of existing concrete is a separate line item on your proposal, so you can see what the removal costs apart from the new pour. Your project manager will look at the existing slab during the walkthrough and include it in the written scope.
For most projects, you get a Same Day Proposal after the free on-site walkthrough. It's one comprehensive scope of work with a total price in writing. And the price is the price: it doesn't change mid-job unless the scope changes.
A 10% deposit gets you on the schedule, 50% is due the morning of install, and the balance is due upon completion. If you'd rather spread it out, financing is available through HFS Financial with a soft credit check to prequalify.
