Pads for shops, barns and garages in Prairieville. 3,500 PSI with fiber in every pour, with excavation, framing and expansion joints included.
Prairieville is a short drive down I-10 from our Baton Rouge shop, and we pour driveways, patios, shop pads and concrete slabs across Prairieville and the rest of Ascension Parish, from the Airline Highway corridor to the newer subdivisions off Highway 73 and Highway 42.
The bigger lots off Bluff Road, Highway 42 and the back roads are where we see the most shop and barn pads, and that heavy clay means the pad has to be built up and compacted before anything gets poured. Every pad is a 3,500 PSI mix with fiber included, and we talk through thickened edges and rebar for the equipment you plan to park on it.

Book My Free WalkthroughThe concrete footings your shop plans call for.
Shop plans require specific concrete footings to ensure the concrete slab can properly support the future structure that will be built on it.
Most of Prairieville sits on heavy clay that holds water after a hard rain and moves as it wets and dries, so good subgrade prep matters more here than the concrete itself. The Amite River, Bayou Manchac and the low ground around Galvez all took water in the August 2016 flood, and a lot of homes in those areas were raised or rebuilt afterward. That means plenty of driveways now have to tie into a higher slab, and that grade change has to be planned so water runs to the ditch and not back toward the garage. Prairieville has grown fast. Newer subdivisions off Highway 73, Highway 42 and Highway 929 usually have HOA rules on driveway width, finish and parking pads, while older lots off Bluff Road and the back roads tend to be bigger, with open ditches and room for a shop. We set slopes and joints with all of that in mind and walk your site before we price it.
For unincorporated Prairieville, building permits run through Ascension Parish Government's permitting office under the Chief Building Official, and a new culvert or driveway connection onto a parish road may need parish review. Driveways tying into a state route like Highway 73, 42 or 929 may also need a Louisiana DOTD driveway permit.
We handle the permits, HOA approval and 811 locates for you.

On a job with this many moving parts, something will eventually go sideways. When it does, you call your project manager and it gets handled. If it is bigger than that, I come look at it myself.

A shop, barn or garage is only as good as the pad it sits on, and a building pad has to be right before the first wall goes up. We plan shop pads around your building and the way you'll use it, then pour them square, level and ready for your builder.
A shop pad isn't just a big patio. It has to match the building exactly, so the best time to call us is once you've picked a building and have its drawings. Metal building suppliers and builders typically provide pad dimensions, door and opening locations, and an anchor bolt plan showing where every bolt goes and how far it sticks up. Some buildings also call for thickened edges or footings at the columns. We use those drawings to lay out and form the pad. If you don't have plans yet, we can still walk the site, talk through size and placement, and help you understand what your supplier will need from the pad before you order.
Think about the heaviest thing that will ever sit or roll on the floor: a tractor, a loaded trailer, a skid steer, a boat, or a car lift. Concentrated loads like lift posts and trailer jacks put a lot of pressure on a small area, and many lift manufacturers publish minimum slab requirements. Every Parish pour is a commercial 3,500 PSI mix with fiber included, which helps control shrinkage cracking across a large floor. For heavier equipment, rebar may make sense, and we'll quote it on request. Tell us at the walkthrough what's going in the building, now and later, so the pad is built for the way you'll really use it.
In South Louisiana, where your pad sits relative to the ground around it matters as much as the concrete itself. A building floor should sit high enough that heavy rain runs away from the doors instead of under them, and the area in front of overhead doors should slope away from the building. Big flat lots can hide low spots that only show up in a storm. At the free walkthrough we measure the pour, shoot the grade and look at where water goes today. Our pricing assumes a typical property with limited grade changes. If the building pad needs to be raised or the site has a big grade change, we'll tell you up front and price that work separately so nothing comes as a surprise.
Shop floors take oil, tools, tires and boots, so a finish that's easy to sweep and clean makes a big difference. Broom finish gives better grip anywhere the pad gets wet. Before the pour is also the time to plan anything that runs under the floor. Plumbing for a bathroom or sink, electrical conduit to a workbench, and floor drains all have to be roughed in before concrete goes down, and your plumber or electrician will need to be scheduled ahead of us. Expansion joints go in where required, and joint placement is planned around how you'll use the floor.
The cheapest bid is rarely the cheapest job. Put every bid side by side and check these six things.
Every pour is a commercial 3,500 PSI mix with fiber, included automatically. Most bids pour 3,000 and charge extra for fiber.
For most projects, one total price in writing the same day we walk it.
No mid-job price changes unless the scope changes. If we under quoted the job, we eat it.

Yes. We look at the drop from the garage to the street, plan the slope so it's drivable, and make sure water still heads to the ditch. That all gets worked out on the free walkthrough before you get a price.
It depends on the work and where it connects. A new culvert or a driveway onto a parish road or a state highway can need approval from Ascension Parish or Louisiana DOTD, and we'll tell you what to expect for your address during the walkthrough.
Yes. Send us your covenants or approval form and we'll build the proposal around the width, finish and setbacks your HOA requires. Getting the architectural approval in hand before the pour saves everybody headaches.
For most projects we give you a Same Day Proposal after the walkthrough, with one total price in writing. That price doesn't change unless the scope does.
The building drawings, especially the pad dimensions, door and opening locations, and the anchor bolt plan. If your building calls for thickened edges or column footings, those details will be on the drawings too. The more complete the plans, the faster and more accurate your proposal.
Getting bolts right is one of the most important parts of a shop pad, because the building frame has to land exactly on them.
It can if it's planned for it. Lift manufacturers usually publish minimum slab requirements, so share the specs for your lift at the walkthrough. Every pour is a 3,500 PSI fiber mix, and we can quote rebar or a thicker section where heavy loads will sit.
Fiber is included in every pour, and we don't use wire mesh by default. Rebar is quoted on request, and it often makes sense for pads carrying heavy equipment, trailers or lifts. Your project manager will talk through it with you based on what's going in the building.
For most projects, you get a Same Day Proposal after the free on-site walkthrough. It's one comprehensive scope of work with a total price in writing. Having your building drawings ready at the walkthrough helps.
Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks after the pour. Your project manager will give you timing so you can schedule your builder.
A 10% deposit gets you on the schedule, 50% is due the morning of install, and the balance is due upon completion. The price in your proposal is the price unless the scope changes, and if we under-quoted, that's on us.
Yes. Parish handles permits, HOA approval where it applies, and 811 utility locates before we dig. That's especially important on rural lots where buried lines aren't always where you'd expect.
