CONCRETE SERVICES IN PRAIRIEVILLE

What we pour in Prairieville.

Prairieville is a short drive down I-10 from our Baton Rouge shop, and we pour driveways, patios, shop pads and concrete slabs across Prairieville and the rest of Ascension Parish, from the Airline Highway corridor to the newer subdivisions off Highway 73 and Highway 42.

Concrete Driveways in Prairieville

A lot of Prairieville driveways cross an open roadside ditch, so the culvert size and the driveway grade over it have to be right or you end up with a dip that holds water. In HOA subdivisions we match the width and finish your covenants call for, and if you park a boat, camper or work trailer on it we'll recommend adding steel highway mesh or rebar.

Concrete Patios in Prairieville

With summer storms that dump inches in an hour, a Prairieville patio needs real fall away from the house, not just a flat pad behind the back door. If your home was raised after 2016, we plan the steps and landing so the patio still drains toward the yard instead of under the slab.

Shop Pads in Prairieville

The bigger lots off Bluff Road, Highway 42 and the back roads are where we see the most shop and barn pads, and that heavy clay means the pad has to be built up and compacted before anything gets poured. Every pad is a 3,500 PSI mix with fiber included, and we talk through thickened edges and rebar for the equipment you plan to park on it.

Concrete Slabs in Prairieville

Backyards in newer Prairieville subdivisions often get a pavilion or storage shed once the house is settled, and most HOAs here have rules on where those can go. With storms that dump inches in an hour, we set the pad so water runs off it toward the yard or ditch, not back toward the house.

LOCAL KNOW-HOW

Pouring concrete in Prairieville.

Most of Prairieville sits on heavy clay that holds water after a hard rain and moves as it wets and dries, so good subgrade prep matters more here than the concrete itself. The Amite River, Bayou Manchac and the low ground around Galvez all took water in the August 2016 flood, and a lot of homes in those areas were raised or rebuilt afterward. That means plenty of driveways now have to tie into a higher slab, and that grade change has to be planned so water runs to the ditch and not back toward the garage. Prairieville has grown fast. Newer subdivisions off Highway 73, Highway 42 and Highway 929 usually have HOA rules on driveway width, finish and parking pads, while older lots off Bluff Road and the back roads tend to be bigger, with open ditches and room for a shop. We set slopes and joints with all of that in mind and walk your site before we price it.

PERMITS IN PRAIRIEVILLE

For unincorporated Prairieville, building permits run through Ascension Parish Government's permitting office under the Chief Building Official, and a new culvert or driveway connection onto a parish road may need parish review. Driveways tying into a state route like Highway 73, 42 or 929 may also need a Louisiana DOTD driveway permit.

We handle the permits, HOA approval and 811 locates for you.

“We aren’t perfect. We do make mistakes, but I promise we will fix anything and leave you satisfied when done.”

FAQ

Prairieville concrete questions.

Don’t see yours? Call or text (225) 399-7840 and ask a real person.

My house was raised after the 2016 flood. Can you pour a driveway up to a higher garage?

Yes. We look at the drop from the garage to the street, plan the slope so it's drivable, and make sure water still heads to the ditch. That all gets worked out on the free walkthrough before you get a price.

Do I need a permit for a new driveway in Prairieville?

It depends on the work and where it connects. A new culvert or a driveway onto a parish road or a state highway can need approval from Ascension Parish or Louisiana DOTD, and we'll tell you what to expect for your address during the walkthrough.

Our HOA has rules about driveways. Will you work within them?

Yes. Send us your covenants or approval form and we'll build the proposal around the width, finish and setbacks your HOA requires. Getting the architectural approval in hand before the pour saves everybody headaches.

How fast can I get a price?

For most projects we give you a Same Day Proposal after the walkthrough, with one total price in writing. That price doesn't change unless the scope does.

Do I need rebar or wire mesh?

Fiber is in every pour. If a driveway will see commercial vehicles, heavy trailers or RVs, we recommend adding steel highway mesh or rebar, quoted as an add-on.

How does payment work?

10% deposit to get scheduled, 50% the morning of install, and the balance upon completion.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We finance through HFS Financial, our sole financing partner. Checking your rate is a soft inquiry and does not affect your credit score.
